Theme: Cities of the Hanseatic League

Each was a trading power in the medieval Hanseatic League that ruled the northern seas. Hamburg remains a great German port, and Lübeck was the League's very capital on the Baltic. Bergen guarded the Norwegian trade, Gdańsk the Polish Baltic, and Tallinn the eastern shore that is now Estonia.
